A Day That Felt Like the Future

Presented by Morrison Mentors and the National Grid Foundation.

From the moment families walked through the doors of the Cradle of Aviation Museum, the energy was contagious. You could hear kids asking questions before they even reached the first table, mentors explaining experiments with wide smiles, and volunteers cheering on young inventors as robots rolled across the floor.More than 3,500 people came together on both days not just to watch, but to experience, imagine, and connect. STEM•X 2025 didn’t feel like a one-day event. It felt like a glimpse into the future we’re all building together.

X•PERIENCES

SCIENCE

Students explored bubbling experiments and saw how the world works up close.

TECHNOLOGY

They dove into coding, drones, and digital creativity that brought imagination to life.

ENGINEERING

Teams built, designed, and tested bold ideas; from legos to robots.

MATH

Patterns, puzzles, and problem-solving challenges kept young minds thinking big.

CLEAN ENERGY

Kids discovered the power of clean energy through hands-on solar and wind experiments, turning simple kits into lessons about protecting our planet.

“I thought science was just numbers,” one fifth-grader said, “but this is like being inside a video game!”

Mentors and volunteers guided each child with patience and pride, helping them experiment, ask questions, and find joy in problem-solving. By the end of the day, hundreds of students left not only with new knowledge, but with the confidence to keep exploring long after the festival was over. After exploring their curiosity at every table, students moved through four themed zones that brought STEM to life in colorful, hands-on ways we called X•PERIENCES; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Learning By Doing

There’s something magical that happens when kids stop watching and start creating. At STEM•X 2025, that magic was everywhere, in the glow of a student’s first successful circuit, the giggle that followed a fizzing chemistry experiment, and the steady focus of a young coder testing their robot’s next move.

Tables were packed with possibilities. Students programmed microbots to race through mazes, built wind turbines from straws and tape, and used virtual reality headsets to explore outer space. Around every corner, someone was learning by doing; discovering that STEM isn’t just something you read about; it’s something you can live and experience through play.

A Shared Success

STEM•X 2025 proved what’s possible when passion meets purpose. Together, we turned a museum into a living classroom, one where more than 3,500 people came together to celebrate learning, creativity, and community.

Every smile, every “aha” moment, and every experiment that lit up a child’s imagination was made possible by our incredible network of volunteers, sponsors, mentors, and families. You showed that STEM isn’t just about science, technology, engineering, and math, it’s about people who care enough to make learning an experience.

To everyone who played a part, "THANK YOU!". You helped us build something bigger than a one-day event. You helped us build a movement.

What’s Next

The energy of STEM•X doesn’t stop here. Starting this winter, we’re bringing that same hands-on spirit to STEM•X Saturdays, a weekly program designed for 4th- and 5th-grade students who want to keep exploring, building, and imagining all year long.

Each session will feature small-group learning, real-world problem solving, and mentorship from our team. Whether it’s coding, robotics, or creative design, these Saturday workshops are all about turning curiosity into confidence.

Behind every STEM Table, there were teams of people making it possible. Volunteers refilled supplies, sponsors handed out prizes, and local leaders stopped by to celebrate the success of the day. It wasn’t just a show, it was a collective moment of joy, proof that when a community invests in its youth, amazing things happen.

“We’re proud to support programs that make STEM accessible to every child,” shared one partner from the National Grid Foundation.

By the end of the day, it was clear that STEM•X wasn’t just powered by science and technology, it was powered by people.

Moments, Powered by Community

One of the most exciting parts of STEM•X 2025 was our Clean Energy X•PERIENCE, presented in partnership with National Grid Foundation. Families and students learned how renewable energy works by building their own mini solar-powered kits and experimenting with simple wind-turbine models.

You could see curiosity come alive as kids connected wires, watched their tiny fans spin, and realized that clean energy isn’t just about science, it’s about our future. Mentors and volunteers guided each group step-by-step, showing how everyday actions can help protect our planet.
